Roast...it's what's for dinner

The other night I tried a new crockpot recipe for roast.  I wanted a recipe that used apples and onions because that's what I had on hand.. to my surprise I found one!  Click here for the recipe.

First cut up some red onions

Get some kind of red wine

Pour 1/4 of a cup into the crockpot

Throw half the onions in the pot

Rinse the roast under some cold water then rub it with some EVOO

Shew..now wash your hands

Season the roast (I used salt, pepper, thyme, and rosemary) and place it on top of the onions, then add the rest of the onions.

At this point, I put the lid on and put the pot in the fridge.

The next morning I added the apples.

Look how pretty and colorful it is

I added a splash more of wine then it was time to "set it and forget it!" (anybody remember that infomercial?)

I set it on low for 10 hours, though it cooked more like 9 hours

Time for work!

                                                    I'm back!

                                                      looks good!

Somebody must have told Macy to put a sock in it...

Just kidding!

Time to eat!

It was really good!  It did need more salt, so I will remember that for next time.
