That was free??

Coupons
This is one of my favorite subjects! I love the feeling I get when I get an awesome deal. I wouldn't say I'm an extreme couponer, but I do try to use coupons whenever possible. A great time to get the most out of your coupons is when a store offers to double or triple your coupons. Over the summer, I planned a shopping trip to Harris Teeter because it was "Super Doubles" that week at the store. This meant that any coupon $1.98 or less would be doubled. All of those $1 off coupons I had were now $2 off coupons. Here is a rundown of what I got that day:
2 Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce at $1.25 = $2.50 - $1 doubled to $2 = $.50/2 = $.25 each
3 Lysol Toilet Cleaners at $1.50= $4.50 - $1 doubled to $2 off 1 and $1 double to $2 off 2 = $.50 /3 = $.17 each
2 Kraft Salad Dressings at $1.50 and $1.49= $2.99 - $1 doubled to $2 off of 2= $.99/2 = $.49 each
HT croutons with purchase of 2 Kraft Dressings = FREE
2 Pedigree dog food cans at $.60 each = $1.20 - BOGO Free coupon = $.60 / 2 = $.30 each
Folgers Black Silk Coffee at $2.99 - $1 doubled to $2 = $.99
2 Dawn Dish Detergent at $1.25 each = $2.50 - $.50 doubled to $1 - $.50 doubled to $1 = $.50/2= $.25 each
3 Kelloggs Frosted Mini Wheats at $5.98 total - BOGO Free coupon- $1 doubled to $2 - $1 double to $2= All 3 for FREE (Vocalpoint coupons)
Wheat Thins and Triscuit Thin Crisps at $1.94 each = $3.88 - $1 doubled to $2= $1.88/2 = $.94 each
Resolve In Wash Stain Remover at $2.14- $1 doubled to $2 = $.14
Cutter Family Bug Repellent at $4.49 - $1.50 doubled to $3 = $1.49
Snuggle Dryer Sheets at $2.99 - $1 doubled to $2= $.99
Colgate toothpaste at $1.99 - $.75 doubled to $1.50 = $.49
2 Digiorno Stuffed Crust Pizzas (small) at $6.67 total - $1 doubled to $2 - $1 doubled to $2 = $2.67/2 = $1.33 and $1.34 each
2 packs of Oscar Meyer hotdogs at $3.99 total - $1 doubled to $2 off of 2 = $1.99/2= $1 each
Total spent was $19.75 with a savings of $76.82!

A great couponing website that will break down each store's weekly sales along with what coupons you should use is Southernsavers. They even have a coupon database where you can type in a specific product and it will let you know if there is a current coupon for this product.
Another tip I have is try to pair up your coupons with a sale price...hold out for that product to go on sale if you can because it will go on sale. I think I read somewhere that everything will go on sale at least once over a 6 week period.
Also, I love shopping online because you can almost always find some type of coupon code! Two great websites I use to find these codes are: Retailmenot and Buxr. I also love Ebates because you earn CASH BACK on purchases you make online! Seriously...at the end of an earning period, you receive a check on purchases you would have been making anyway..it's great! I have earned over $50 to date.
Freebies
Along with my love for coupons is my love for freebies! I'm known for getting lots and lots of free stuff delivered right to my front door. I also try to get free stuff for my family and friends. I get texts all the time saying thanks or letting me know what they got. This week it was from my mother in law saying "thanks for the swiffer duster!" She knew I was behind her freebie!
I love the website/blog : Freebies4mom. She is great about being on top of awesome deals/freebies/sweeps. It is updated several times a day.
Want to get some awesome stuff in the mail? Websites like Bzzagent, Vocalpoint, Smiley360 and SheSpeaks offer free products for you to try so that they may get your feedback. I have gotten some great stuff from these sites such as: an electric toothbrush, pyrex baking dishes, coupons for all kinds of free products, razors, cosmetics, cleaning products, food, etc. I love pulling up in my driveway and seeing boxes on my front porch!

Fall Festivities
Saturday September 24 was the Fall Festival at the nursing home where my grandmother is. They have food, a big yard sale, and different vendors set up. My nana bought Macy a tricycle for $7 before we even got there..a really nice one too!
Clifton, Sage, Alex, Ryan, and Keith all met up there. Sage found some really nice shoes for $1...he was excited about that! I will have to add more pics of this day later when I can get them off of my camera.
Then Clifton left with Sage and took him out for a fun day while my mom, Macy, and I went to our favorite place to shop...Ross!
On our way home we stopped at the mall and shopped at Burkes for a little while. Macy shopped til she dropped.
After I broke up the fight , we took the girls for a stroll around the neighborhood
Riana says "look at these guns!"
Riana was precious, she even let me rock her to sleep. It was hard dividing my attention between the two though (both wanting to be held, etc.) , I can't imagine having twins!
The following weekend was the fair. We went Saturday October 1st , Sunday October 2nd , and Tuesday October 4th. Um yeah I would be happy just going once lol
Saturday Oct. 1:

We got something to eat then headed to the exhibit hall to see our pictures that we entered. Out of 6 pictures in 6 different categories we received 2 ribbons! That's pretty good!
Macy's pic got first place in the "humorous child" category :)
We played our favorite game...the dime game. Gotta love ugly mis-matched glasses Ha!
The next day was Sunday and you get in free with a church bulletin which is when my mom and dad like to go.
"Guess where we're going Macy....back to the fair!"
"I'm so over this..."
The first thing we did was , you guessed it, get something to eat lol then we let Macy ride the little train. It looked to be the "tamest" ride there. I rode with her of course.
We walked around some more and Clifton rode some stuff with the boys. We ran into Aliyah and also Ryan, Alex, and Keith. The lines were really long for the rides so it took forever for them to just ride a few things.
"Guys...it is like so past my bedtime"

A few things I want to remember...
I wanted to blog about this before I forget. Macy started doing this really funny thing where when I give her a sip of water from a glass she turns and kisses me on the cheek . She will do this over and over and over. Sometimes she will go to drink out of the glass and turn and kiss me real fast...it is hilarious!! I need to get a picture or video of it.
Macy has also started waving at people intentionally. Yesterday while we were out to eat, she was waving at the table next to us. It is too cute!
Her favorite "game" is for me to let her fall back on the bed, then pull her up and let her do it again.. she laughs soo hard.
Saturday, Oct. 15th , I let her try yobaby banana yogurt for the first time.. She looooved it. Her favorite thing for breakfast right now is cereal with mashed up banana mixed in. She will eat 2 bowls sometimes and almost the whole banana.
She is making a lot of progress with crawling..she will pull herself to whatever she is trying to get to. She will also get on her hands and knees and rock back and forth so she is almost to the point of "real" crawling.
Temper tantrums have started somewhat. If I go to put her down and she isn't wanting me to , she will stiffen up and throw herself back and cry. Bless it.

Catching up...
Ok, I'm going to quickly sum up a few more things that I need to blog about before I forget.
So the day after we got back from Atlanta was September 12- Clifton's Bday
This pic cracks me up- they have the same look ha!
After her appt. we met up with Jenene (Mawmaw), Wayne (Pawpaw), my mom (Mimi), and Neal who were all riding horses.
The following weekend (September 16 -18) , we went to Lake Tillery .

We got there pretty late, so we just explored the house. It was really nice!
The next morning we had a really good breakfast out on the porch with a view of the lake
Macy played a lot in her pack and play. We moved it out onto the porch.
We played around outside in the kayaks and paddle boat.
They had this racetrack thing in the 'rec room' that Macy loved to watch
The next morning, we packed and cleaned then took Macy out on the boat for the first time. She didn't know what to think of that life jacket...
One more post should catch me up to the present... Post to come on Fall Festival, babysitting Riana, the fair, and my bday. Whew.

THE Recipe for Roast
I would say roast is probably my favorite thing to cook because A. it's really easy and B. it's really good. I have tried many recipes for roast and I have found THE recipe. I got this from another blog and she was not kidding about how good this is. Also, it is the easiest by far. You could literally throw this together in 2 minutes, set the crockpot, and go about your business. I only got one pic with my cell phone of what it looked like when I put it together. It looks crazy and the whole time I was thinking..this is going to be too salty or this is going to be too buttery. No, it is just plain good. Do yourself a favor and make this roast!!
Place roast in crockpot and set it on low
Sprinkle packet of brown gravy mix or aux jus mix over roast
Sprinkle packet of ranch dressing mix.
Add 4-5 pepperoncini peppers (or 6 or 7 however many you want)
Place a whole stick of butter on top (Paula Deen would be so proud)
I did add red onions, but it wasn't in the original recipe. I think they added even more flavor!
You will be tempted, but do NOT add water!
Cook on low for at least 8 hours
I served this with mashed potatoes, carrots, corn , and rolls. Highly recommend it with mashed potatoes because of all the melted butter...it just works.
