Play Date with Riana AKA Lets Get Ready to Rumble

Yesterday, Clifton dropped off Macy at my work around 4:00.  After we left,  we stopped by Megan's house to give Riana something.  We ended up picking up some food from Cookout and staying a couple of hours.  After dinner, we put the girls down on the floor to let them play.  Macy must have said something to offend Riana because Riana just wasn't having it haha

Here's how things went down:

Macy decided to cut yet another tooth which we noticed yesterday.  It is right beside the other one.  No wonder she has been so fussy!  For a little while I thought she had a cold or something, but nope it was another tooth coming through.  Today she decided she would sit up!  She has sat up some, but not for as long as she can now.   Here is a pic of her new trick, she is so proud!

Macy also wanted to wish Shannon and a happy 21st birthday!!   Happy Birthday Shannon!! :)

Mimi's Bday

Monday, August 8 was my mom's (Mimi) birthday.  We celebrated by going out to eat at Outback and then came back and ate some chocolate-peanut butter ice cream cake that I made.

Taste was all that mattered though and it was goooood!

Is it just me, or does Macy look like she has vampire teeth in this pic? lol

I will add that on Tuesday, August 9 Macy tried squash and LOVED it , she devoured the entire jar!   She has since tried green beans, sweet potatoes, carrots, bananas, and prunes.   She is not crazy about green veggies, orange is definitely her fave!

Rolling Along with Peas, Teeth, and a Wedding

Last weekend held a lot of firsts for Macy.  She started rolling (deliberately) on Friday, August 5 and has been all over the place ever since. 

Here she is earlier in the evening on Friday after I picked her up .  She seemed to think this was more comfortable than her normal position lol

Saturday, August 6, she tried baby food (peas) for the first time and seemed to like it!

Also on Saturday, she attended her first wedding and did pretty well, but kinda noisy during the ceremony.  There were other babies making noises too though, so we didn't feel so bad lol

Then, when we got home I noticed that she was cutting her first tooth!  I couldn't believe it, seems so early for that!  She was very cranky on Monday and everybody could tell she didn't feel good.  The next day she was back to her old self though, so apparently that was the worst of it.  No more letting her gnaw on my finger like she used to...that little tooth is sharp!  I wish I had a picture of it, but its on the bottom and very hard to get a glimpse of with her tongue in the way.

She is growing way too fast!!

5 Months!

Macy is 5 months old today!   


* You still do not like rice cereal very much...we are going to see how you like veggies this weekend!
* You have rolled over a few times, but still not consistently
* You were sleeping well in your crib, but have not wanted to sleep in it again recently.  You seem to sleep the most on the weekends (in your crib).  You have slept thru the night twice this past month and both times were on the weekend...go figure.  You mostly still wake up once to eat during the night and you are a major night owl!  You usually go to sleep around 10.

*You are the happiest in the mornings and smile so big after you wake up...something I look forward to on the weekends.
*You reach for everything now...my cell phone, my drink, food, remote, etc.  I even ordered you your own baby cell phone, since you are so interested in mine!
*You still love to look at yourself in the mirror and I can always get a smile that way.  You can be having a fussy moment, but as soon as I take you to the mirror, you have to smile even if its just for a second lol

*You love your Mimi's dog Pippi , when you spot her you start "talking" and laughing.
*You love your exersaucer (I still need to get you one for home)

*You pay attention when someone reads you a book

*You love other babies (like Riana!)

*You love to splash in the pool

*You are still in 3 to 6 months and some 6 months clothes.  And still wear a size 2 diaper
*Your hair has gotten even longer and has lightened up from when you were born.  It was very dark, now it looks like a light golden brown.  Your eyes have stayed blue.

*You grab our faces and sometimes you pretty much rip my lips off my face..ow!
*You are getting sooo big!  The other day a hostess asked if we needed a kids menu...true story.

August already??

Wow I can't believe it's August!  July went by so fast.  This will be a fun month though.   Macy will be going to her first wedding this weekend to see Casey and Joseph get married!  Also, she turns 5 months on August 5th so we are going to let her try veggies.  She is not really feeling the rice cereal so maybe she will like the purees better.  And! We are going on our beach vacation this month...I can't wait!

 Well this past weekend was pretty layed back.  Friday after I got off of work, we went swimming at Mimi's

Saturday, I didn't even leave the house so we just had a restful day.

Then Sunday we took Macy to church and she did pretty good.  She enjoyed the puppet show. Everybody was cracking up at her watching it because she was not blinking or anything- she was so into it! lol

July Weekends

This is going to be one long post so I can catch up on a couple of fun weekends this month!

Saturday, July 9, We (mom, dad, clifton, me , and  macy) all went to Hickory to look at a couple of houses that were for sale on the lake.  We didnt really like where they were though.  Then we went to eat at Red Lobster.  I had been wanting to get the 4 course meal deal for $15.  Well , me and mama got the habanero coconut shrimp bites and grilled citrus shrimp as our entree. 

Looks good right?  WRONG! It was not good!  The coconut shrimp was so sweet and tasted like suntan lotion. It was covered in what looked like marmalade..it was so gross. The citrus shrimp did not taste right and wasn't citrusy at all.  The soup, salad, and dessert however, were good.  After that, we went to Once Upon a Child.  A ton of their clothes were on clearance for $1!  I got Macy 15 outfits for $15! Some were boutique brands and some were Carter's and Gymboree.  Mama got Macy an exersaucer for her house for $25.

And here she is on July 14th in one of her new dresses that I got for a dollar!   I also want to add that this was the night she put herself to sleep in her crib for the first time and slept from 10:30 until 5:30!

Saturday, July 16th- 

     Me, Clifton, Macy, Mama, and Justin all went to Gaffney to shop and eat at Cracker Barrel.  I wanted to go to The Children's Place because I had a coupon for 25% off my whole purchase.  I got Macy some stuff at Oshkosh, Carter's, and CP.  It felt so good outside! It had been in the 90s for so long that upper 70s felt a little cool.  Clifton and Justin pushed Macy in stroller while me and mama shopped.  She slept mostly.  They said everybody was stopping to look at her and calling her "miss diva" and "miss hollywood". hmmm I wonder why...

  After we finished shopping, Justin's friend Justin met us at Cracker Barrel.   Me and mama got the bbq chicken special and the justins got the brisket special. Clifton got chicken and dumplins of course.

 After we left, we went thru DQ and got some treats!  After we got home, I got Alex's bday gift ready and we went over to the greenhouse to see him and Ryan.   Poppy was holding Macy and letting her touch the flowers. She was doing this thing where she would shiver after she touched one, it was so funny!   She went to sleep almost as soon as we got home and slept in her crib until 5:30... 8 hours...which was the longest yet!

Sunday July 17-

   
Clifton decided he felt good enough to go to church. I stayed home with Macy though because we were going to go with mama to see nana.  Me , Mama, Macy and Justin all decided we were going to go eat mexican for lunch.  Clifton sees us going in on his way back so he joins us (he had already eaten lunch ).  We go in and see that the Heffrons are there.  Casey was excited to see Macy. (Casey is getting married August 6th!)

  When Clifton was holding Macy on his lap she started grabbing his styrofoam cup and trying to drink out of the straw!  I dont know how she knew how to do that. Then she pulled the straw out and stuck it in her mouth.

After we were finished eating, Justin left to go play basketball and Clifton went home.  Me, Mama, and Macy went to see Nana. When we got there , she was playing bingo so we sat in and watched.  Everybody went crazy over Macy.  Here's the only pic I took while we were there:

    After we left there I went by McDonalds and got me and mama a rolo mcflurry (yum!) and clifton an oreo one.  When we got home Macy really needed a nap, so I got her to sleep and she slept almost 2 hours!  I did laundry and cleaned up while she slept.  That night we watched our fave show Food Network Star.  Macy went to bed about 9:45 and slept in her crib til 12:50 a.m., but then she slept pretty good after that.

Friday, July 22- Took Macy swimming...she was about to fall asleep, but she soon figured out how to splash and loved it!

Saturday July 23- Went to Carolina Cafe to eat and then swimming again. Macy slept thru the night from 10 to 6:15!!

Sunday July 24- She slept thru the night again (9:45 to 6:30) and I had to wake her up to nurse before I got ready for work!   



Just now getting this post published..oops.  One more weekend and we will be caught up to the present!
