4 Months

Macy had her 4 month check up on July 12th.  She weighed 15 lbs 7 oz. (90th percentile) and was 25.75 inches long (96th!).   She had to get 2 shots, so that was sad.  She cried for a little while, but I calmed her down with a bottle.   Here is a pic of her after her appt.

We were also given the green light to start her on rice cereal.  We tried it that night and she seemed to like it.  She hasn't had it since though because it constipated her for 3 days.  Apparently that's normal, so maybe we will give it another go.

She currently wears sizes 3-6 months and some 6 months.  She has been in a size 2 diaper for a while now.  She is still not rolling over completely, but almost always rolls from her back to her side to sleep.  She loves to hold her feet and put them in her mouth...its her new favorite thing! 

She has such a personality and really looks at you with lots of expression when you're talking to her. She will raise her eyebrows and her eyes get huge sometimes!

She is getting better at sleeping in her crib and has even put herself to sleep in it a few of times.  Her longest stretch of sleep has been 8 hours (9:30 to 5:30) on July 16th.

Our Drive-In Experience

So Friday, July 8 we decided we would take Macy with us to the drive-in to see Zookeeper and Cars 2.  Everything is fine at first and she falls asleep before the first movie even starts.  Well the lady loading the movies put in Cars 2 on accident (was supposed to be Zookeeper first) and said she couldn't stop it.  Macy wakes up and starts freaking out.  Clifton takes her and walks her around. They are gone for awhile so I'm thinking she must have fallen asleep.  Nope!  He comes back and she is sniffling because she had been crying the whole time, bless her heart.  So we shut the back of the car so we don't disturb everybody and I get her back to sleep finally.  This happens at least 3 more times.  I don't think I watched more than 10 minutes of the Cars movie.  Not to mention it was SO hot and when your child is screaming it just makes you sweat worse! lol    After Zookeeper finally starts she settles down and goes back to sleep.  Halfway through the movie, I fall asleep myself and miss most of it.  I can never stay awake for the 2nd movie!   After putting Macy back in her carseat (with yet another freak out) we get home and I find that I had layed on an M&M and it had melted all over my pants, shirt, and arms.  I knew I smelled chocolate...

16 weeks (estimate) - you have been smiling pretty much since 7 or 8 weeks but you really started smiling and laughing a lot more around this time!  Here you are on July 9, 2011.

June 26, 2011- fell asleep on your own (nap) in pack and play
                      - splashed for the first time in the tub  

June 27, 2011- first time putting feet in pool

June 28, 2011- mawmaw and pawpaw took you to have your picture made and then to see Cars 2 at the movie theater

July 8, 2011- first drive-in movie (Cars 2 and Zookeeper) -you didn't like it so much because it was late and waaay past your bedtime

First Post!

Just a bit of an introduction as my first post.  My name is Amber and I am a new mommy to Macy (the main subject of this blog!).  She was born March 5, 2011 so that makes her currently 4 months old!  This is mostly for myself to look back on things she did, places she went, and (eventually) things she said.  These first few posts are going to be me playing catch up for the last few months.   Thanks for reading!
